Privacy Policy

When you use the site, we may process the following, and only if you enter it or the service needs it:

• An Israeli license plate (7 or 8 digits) used to look up the vehicle.
• Vehicle details you enter manually: make, model, year, engine code, trim, and fuel type.
• An OEM part number and the part category you search for.
• IP address, for rate limiting only. It stays in server memory for a short window and is not written to a database.
• Display preference (light or dark) stored in your browser under the localStorage key autoparts-theme. That is not a tracking cookie.
• Anonymous statistics: we count visits, theme choice, part searches (part type, make, model and year, or part number) and clicks on buy links, without the plate number and without identifying information. No IP address, user agent or cookie is stored. A random temporary ID in the browser tab (sessionStorage) is used only to count visits and is deleted when the tab closes.

The site has no accounts, newsletter, or contact form. It does not ask for your name, email, shipping address, or payment details.

The site does not run Google Analytics or its own advertising cookies.

The site does not display product photos taken from eBay, Amazon, or AliExpress.

Providing a license plate, vehicle details, or a part number is voluntary. There is no legal duty to provide them.

If you do not provide a plate, plate lookup does not run. You can still search by details you enter or by a part number.

The purpose is to look up technical specs and show buy links. The plate is queried against the open vehicle dataset on data.gov.il. Specs without the plate may be sent to Google Gemini when there is no local match. The IP address is used only for rate limiting.

You have a right of access under section 13 of the Privacy Protection Law and a right to request correction under section 14. Requests use the contact details published in this policy.

data.gov.il figures are shown as technical specs only. The site is not endorsed or approved by the State of Israel, and the plate is not combined with other sources to identify a person.

• Plate lookup against the public vehicle dataset on data.gov.il. A result may be kept in server memory for up to 24 hours so the same plate is not queried again.
• Building part searches and showing links to eBay, Amazon, and AliExpress.
• When the local catalog has no match, vehicle specs (make, model, year, engine code, trim, displacement, and fuel) and the part description are sent to Google Gemini to suggest an OEM number. The plate number is not included in that request.
• Showing an estimated landed cost. VAT at 18% is calculated on the item price and shipping when that sum exceeds $75. Insurance, purchase tax, and handling fees are not included. Customs duty is not shown up to $500. Above $500 a category customs rate may appear, as an illustration only. This is not a tax assessment.
• Rate limiting, to keep the service available.

Information is shared only as needed to run the service:

• data.gov.il - a query for the plate you entered.
• Google (Gemini) - processing of vehicle specs and the part category when there is no local match.
• eBay, Amazon, and AliExpress - only if you open a buy link. The link may include an affiliate identifier. From that point, their own policies apply, including their cookies.
• Netlify - hosting. Your IP address may appear in the provider’s infrastructure logs.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it on beyond these services.

• Plate lookup cache: up to 24 hours in server memory. It is dropped when it expires or the process restarts.
• Rate limiting: about a one-minute window in server memory.
• There is no end-user database.
• The display preference stays on your device until you clear site data in the browser.

Under the Privacy Protection Law you may, among other things:

• A right of access under section 13 of the Privacy Protection Law.
• A right to request correction under section 14, and deletion subject to law.
• A right to object to direct marketing. The site does not send marketing mail.

The site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Display preference is stored in browser local storage.

If you open a buy link, eBay, Amazon, or AliExpress may set their own cookies to attribute an affiliate referral and to run the shop. You can block third-party cookies in the browser. Blocking them does not stop search on this site, but it may stop commission attribution after a purchase.

Some processing may happen on servers outside Israel, including Google, the marketplaces, and Netlify. We take reasonable steps so that information is handled under applicable privacy law.

We use reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed fully secure.

Do not enter passwords, card details, or identity documents. The site does not ask for them.

The service is meant for personal use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest date appears at the top of the page. A new plate lookup is subject to the text in force at the time of collection.
